MIAMI (AP) -- American and Bahamian law enforcement authorities have seized more than $2 million worth of marijuana in the Bahamas.

The U.S. Coast Guard announced the seizure of 67 bales of pot totaling 2,307 pounds Saturday. Four suspects have been taken into custody. Authorities discovered the drugs in a hidden cache on a remote cay in the Exuma island chain of the Bahamas. A Coast Guard helicopter transported the marijuana to Bahamian law enforcement in Nassau.

The seizure was the second in a week for the U.S.-Bahamian counter-narcotics effort known as Operation Lion Fish. The partnership, which also includes the Drug Enforcement Administration, is designed to combat drug smuggling to and from the Bahamas.
