ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- The U.S. Coast Guard has offloaded another big shipment of seized cocaine in St. Petersburg.
About 1,280 pounds of cocaine were unloaded from the Coast Guard Cutter Sitkinak in St. Pete on Thursday morning, with a street value around $19 million.
The cocaine was seized in support of Operation Martillo, an international operation to stop illegal drug trafficking.
The Coast Guard was tipped off by a Dutch Navy patrol about the 26 foot vessel.
The two suspected smugglers aboard were turned over to federal law enforcement officials.
