POLK COUNTY, Fla. - Polk County deputies announced on Monday that they arrested 80 people in a four-day undercover online prostitution operation.
Officials said those arrested were charged with soliciting for prostitution, soliciting another to commit a lewd act, deriving support/proceeds from prostitution, and aiding/abetting prostitution.
Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd will provide additional details at a 2 p.m. news conference.
Authorities said several of the people arrested have criminal histories.
According to a news release, a 16-year-old girl, believed to be a victim of human trafficking, was arrested, along with the 20-year-old man who drove her to an unspecified location.
A probation officer; a 50-year-old, who has been arrested by PCSO twice before during the same type of operation; and an Altamonte Springs attorney were also arrested, officials said.
Investigators said nine of the "Johns" arrested told deputies they were married and one man was engaged to be married. Five arrested on prostitution charges told officials they were married.
No other details were immediately known.
