ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. -- A new report shows hate crimes have gone up in Florida.
In 2012, 170 hate crimes were reported, with 32 of them in Orange County -- the most ofby any county in the state.
However, while hate crimes were up over the previous year, they are down significantly from a decade ago.
In 2004, there were 334 hate crimes in Florida, but the numbers have shown a steady decline since then, until 2012 when the numbers jumped back up again.
More than half of the hate crimes involved race or color, while more than a quarter had to do with sexual orientation.
