ATLANTA, Ga. -- The world's busiest airport is holding a casting call of sorts.
Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport is seeking volunteers who can play the role of travelers. The goal is to test how a new international terminal will perform when it opens for real passengers.
Airport officials say they need about 1,500 volunteers for the simulated exercise on May 2. It will simulate a day of operation at the new 1.2 million-square-foot terminal. The new terminal is scheduled to open May 16.
Interim Deputy General Manager Balram Bheodari says the goal is to test the terminal's operational readiness, and identity any potential problems before the opening date.
People who wish to volunteer for the simulation may fill out a survey at the airport's website.
