ATLANTA -- Forecasters say frost is expected for much of Thursday morning in large parts of north and central Georgia.

The National Weather Service issued a frost advisory, which continues through 9 a.m. Thursday. It covers all of northwest Georgia, most of northeast Georgia and a large section of central Georgia from Macon to the north.

Cities in the advisory area include Athens, Atlanta, Blairsville, Carrollton, Covington, Dalton, Rome, Toccoa, Gainesville, LaGrange and Eatonton.

Forecasters say temperatures were expected to range from 34 to 36 degrees, and sensitive outdoor plants were in danger if left uncovered.
