KINGSLAND, Ga. -- A multi-agency investigation into child predators resulted in the arrest of a 34-year-old man on charges related to child pornography.

The investigation involved the Kingsland Police Department, St. Marys Police Department, Georgia Bureau of Investigation and the Alachua County Sheriff's Office in Gainesville, according to a news release from Kingsland Police Department Public Information Officer Lieutenant Todd Tetterton.

Tetterton said the investigation is part of an ongoing effort by the Internet Crimes Against  Children (ICAC) Task Force.  An investigator with the Alachua County Sheriff's Office who is a member of the Task Force was conducting routine operations to identify people involved in child sexual abuse and/or child predators in internet chat rooms.  While doing her routine investigation, Tetterton said she was contacted by Douglas Castleberry.  Castleberry is a resident of St. Marys.

Tetterton said while the detective was chatting online, Castleberry believed that we was chatting with the mother of an 11-year-old girl.

Tetterton said during the conversation with the detective, Castleberry allegedly said he would bring photographs that could be used to instruct the 11-year-old in performing sexual acts.

Additionally, Tetterton said Castleberry allegedly told the detective he had a relationship with a 10-year-old girl and that in another chat room he told the parent of a 6-year-old girl how to sexually abuse the girl without causing injury or leaving evidence.

Tetterton said Castleberry also allegedly asked how big the little girl's bed was and mentioned he had relationships with other children in the past.

During the week the undercover detective and Castleberry chatted, Tetterton said an agreement was reached to meet in the Gainesville area for Castleberry to have sex with the 11-year-old girl.

Police arrested Castleberry when he arrived in Gainesville.  Tetterton said at the time of his arrest Catleberry had 357 photographic images of child pornography.  The pictures were to be used for the instruction of the child, according to police.

Detectives transported Douglas Castleberry to the Alachua County Jail where he was booked on charges of possession of child pornography and use of a two way device to facilitate a felony.  His bond is set at $90,000.
