SUWANEE, Ga. -- Authorities say a memorial fund has been set up for relatives of a hunter who fell to his death from a tree stand in a wooded area northeast of Atlanta. His son also fell from the stand and was injured.

The Atlanta Journal Constitution reports that the fund has been set up for the McBryant family of Cumming through their church, Abundant Life Church in Cumming.

Forsyth County Fire Chief Jason Shivers says 44-year-old Jeffery Lane McBryant of Cumming was pronounced dead at the scene, off Old Atlanta Road in the Suwanee area Monday evening. Shivers said McBryant's teenage son was taken to Northside Hospital-Forsyth with non-life threatening injuries.

Investigators estimate the two fell between 15 and 20 feet to the ground.
