SAVANNAH, Ga. -- Military couples are now getting to hold the wedding of their dreams, all for free.
It's part of the "Weddings for Warriors" project, based out of Savannah.
"It's amazing that they give back to the military because you don't get
that often, people volunteering and doing a wedding for the military
itself," said one bride.
The city's wedding tourism council started it back in 2009. Since then, it's blossomed, giving weddings and vow renewal ceremonies to active duty military couples.
Executive Director Becky Byous says it not only means so much to the couple, but to their families as well.
"Dads have come up to me with tears in their eyes saying when she got married the first time I wasn't there and today - I get emotional - today you allowed me to give my daughter away," she said.
The project provides the flowers, the catering, even the photography for the weddings.
