BRUNSWICK, Ga. -- A day of service brought experienced hands and young minds together to start building two new Habitat for Humanity homes on Blain Street.
The service project brought students from the College of Coastal Georgia to the construction site for hands on work.
"It takes team work to build a home," said Maggie Bee who is a volleyball player and president of student government.
The homes are habitat number 74 and 75 to go up in Brunswick since 1989.
Phillis George helped coordinate the student service project that kicked off on the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday.
"It teaches students about the impact that they can have in their community," said George, who also worked on the homes.
The homes on Blain Street are expected to be finished by April.
