(AP) - Atlanta police say they have busted a ring of retail stores found selling nearly $2 million worth of counterfeit items.

WSB-TV reports police officers hauled away bags full of purses, jeans and shoes from six stories Friday night. They found roughly enough counterfeit merchandise to fill a U-Haul truck.

Police say a raid on the West End Market turned up goods being sold under faked labels for brands such as Coach, Ralph Lauren, Izod, Levi and Guess. Authorities say a member of the public tipped off Atlanta police, which sent investigators to buy the bogus goods to verify they were counterfeits.

Atlanta police say they made six arrests at the West End Market. Merchants were charged with sale of counterfeit or forged goods.
