MACON, Ga. (AP) -- Macon police have identified a woman who was struck and killed by a street sweeper.
Police say 22-year-old Kenyotta Jones was wearing all black clothing and was hit in an area that had no street lights early Monday morning.
Jones was taken to the Medical Center of Central Georgia, where she was pronounced dead.
Police say the operator of the street sweeping vehicle is not being charged at this time.
Macon police encourage pedestrians to wear reflective, bright or white clothing at night, carry flashlights and to cross at crosswalks whenever possible.
