COLUMBUS, Ga. (AP) -- A seven-month search has resulted in a Georgia man being arrested in Florida.
U.S. marshals report that 27-year-oild Brandon Reese was apprehended Friday at a condominium in Crystal Beach, Fla. Marshals said Reese had vowed he would never be caught or taken into custody without incident, but he is being held in Tampa until he can be turned over to Columbus authorities.
Officials said Reese fled from a gas station in Columbus on Jan. 9 when narcotics agents blocked in his Mercedes. Two others were arrested at the scene on charges of possessing cocaine and marijuana.
Reese was wanted on charges of unlawful flight to avoid prosecution, probation violation and possession with intent to distribute cocaine and marijuana.
