A judge Wednesday a key piece of video surveillance to be released to a Valdosta family. It shows their son walking into the high school gymnasium where he was found dead.
Kendrick Johnson's family is convinced he was murdered despite his death being ruled accidental.
He was found dead in January rolled up in a high school gym mat.
You can see 17-year-old Kendrick Johnson highlighted in the white t-shirt and dark pants walking down the hallway and into the gym at his high school.
He follows someone into the gym and then you see three others walking behind him.
We have blurred their faces because we have no indication that anyone else in the video is connected to this story.
Authorities had refused to release the footage citing the privacy of other juveniles.
A state medical examiner ruled the Kendrick suffocated after getting stuck in the mat.
Police said he was trying to retrieve a sneaker.
His family has been pressing authorities to take another look and has been fighting to see surveillance video from the hours before he died through the next morning when his body was discovered.
FCN spoke with the family's attorney Ben Crump.
He said the judge today ordered the release of 1900 hours of surveillance video which the family hopes to see Thursday including video from inside the gym.
