PONTE VEDRA, Fla. -- Every Monday this February, First Coast News is bringing you a new segment on Good Morning Jacksonville.
It's called Monday Makeover, and FCN is teaming up with Ten Salon in Ponte Vedra to help women on the First Coast look and feel their best.
Rose O'Malley of Jacksonville was the makeover recipient for Monday, February 11, 2013.
O'Malley was recently homeless and living in a shelter. She also battled what she described as a serious panic disorder.
But now O'Malley, who also enjoys painting birds, is on the rebound with a new part-time job and a new apartment in Jacksonville.
Her case manager nominated her for the makeover at Ten, which she said she loved and made her feel like "a million dollars."
The makeover included a haircut, wash, color treatment, makeup application, flowers and a new blow dryer.
When all was said and done, O'Malley told First Coast News her new look goes perfectly with the new chapter she's starting in her life.
"I feel like a brand new person, and I'm ready to pretty much walk through the rest of my life with my head held high and expecting the best," she said.
