JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- It was an energetic morning full of team spirit at Mandarin High School on Friday.

FCN looking for 'Friday Night Football' inspiration

First Coast News was live during Good Morning Jacksonville as the school was getting ready for a pep rally.

Members of the varsity football team, varsity cheerleading squad and student leadership team joined FCN's Jacob Long in the school gymnasium and courtyard.

Brian Braddock, the Mustangs' new head football coach, was also there.

Braddock came to Mandarin High after spending a few years as an assistant coach at St. Augustine High School.

The pep rally was held once students started to arrive for the day.

Mandarin opens its season at home Friday night at 7 p.m. against Terry Parker High School.
