Mirror, mirror, on the wall -- which is the vainest city of them all?
Model-centric Miami, according to the LivingSocial website. Next on the vain list: Chicago, followed by Atlanta, Philadelphia and Phoenix.
Huh? What happened to L.A., where picture-perfect actors wait tables and park cars and aspire to be the next Brad Pitt or Angelina Jolie? It ranked sixth. Or New York, where Botoxed socialites and fashionistas strut Madison and Fifth Avenues? Ninth.
LivingSocial surveyed 4,000 people online in 20 U.S. cities. The vast majority of Miami residents ranked themselves a 7 or higher on a scale of 1 to 10 for good looks and also -- more than other cities -- said they knew the most people who had cosmetic medical procedures such as collagen injections or liposuction. (23% of all respondents in the 20 cities surveyed said they knew someone with breast implants, by the way.)
An interesting survey finding: nationwide, 56% of respondents describe themselves as ranking 7 or higher on a scale of 1 to 10.
