By Jeannie Blaylock First Coast News JACKSONVILLE, FL -- How much do third graders really understand about cancer? The students at Twin Lakes Academy Elementary understand quite a bit. That's because they have cheered on some of their own school family fighting cancer. One student has a mom, teachers say, who's battled both breast cancer and brain cancer. The girl says she learned to cook noodles while her mom didn't feel well during chemotherapy. It's the details of fighting cancer which really tug at your heart. So when teachers asked the students to help collect bears for our Buddy Bear project, their enthusiasm was sincere. Click on the video button to watch their story. You'll also see the terrific donations from the Center Academies and the U.S. Naval Sea Cadets.
