"There's a long time to go. There's a long time to grow," said judge Len Goodman just before Tuesday's Dancing With the Stars results show got underway. "As we watch week by week, somebody's going to come out and be a real dancer."

Here's how the first DWTS results show of the season unfolded:
The first stars saved were Ricki Lake (no surprise) and Elisabetta Canalis (big surprise!).
George Clooney's ex girlfriend was near the bottom of the leader board, just above L.A. Laker Ron Artest, and she seemed a likely target. "I want to thank everybody," said Canalis. "Thank you, thank you, thank you."
Performance time. Harry Connick Jr. crooned a tune.
Next, it was revealed that Hope Solo, Kristin Cavallari were safe.
LMFAO then performed, prompting Carrie Ann Inaba and Bruno Tonioli to jump up on their judges table to dance. Bruno was so into the music, he yanked his shirt off.
Next reveal: Chynna Phillips, Chaz Bono and J.R. Martinez were all deemed safe. They gave themselves a big group hug.

In the end, Nancy Grace, Metta World Peace (Ron Artest) and Rob Kardashian were the final three in jeopardy. Who was sent home?
NBA star Ron Artest. "Metta, are you surprised?" asked Brooke Burke Charvet. "Who's coming with me?" he yelled at the audience, grabbing the microphone from Brooke. "I want to say thank you, Dancing With the Stars, Peta (his partner), and, I had a great time."
As the credits rolled, the song The First Cut is the Deepest, played.
