JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Clerk of Courts Office is already preparing its staff for the move to the new Duval County Courthouse, but how jurors will get there is still up in the air.

Clerk of Court Jim Fuller says some decisions need to be made and fast.  Fuller says the Jacksonville Transportation Authority no longer wants to handle the bus service on Mondays transporting several hundred people for jury selection from EverBank to the courthouse.

"That's one of the major problems I think with the JTA and the city. The JTA claims the city has not been paying them," said Fuller whose office runs a shuttle from arena parking lots after juries have been selected.

The JTA did not return calls seeking comment on its position or options being considered.

Fuller says a compromise might be somehow keeping the bus and shuttle system running for six months after the courthouse is opened.  He hopes city parking garages downtown can become an option.

What is not an option according to Fuller is having jurors pay when called to serve.

"One thing floated out was $10 a day for jurors to park. Myself and the chief judge think that's unacceptable to make a juror pay for parking," said Fuller.

The Chief of Public Parking Jack Shad says no provisions were made free parking for jurors in parking garages near the new courthouse.

"Jurors always able to park closer to the courthouse if they are willing to pay for it.  The free option may or may not be within walking distance of the courthouse," said Shad.

Shad says details on getting jurors to the courthouse are still be worked out.

The new Duval County Courthouse is expect to open after Memorial Day.
