JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Individuals in the River City who have been working toward LGBT workplace equality will be celebrated by JASMYN (Jacksonville Area Sexual Minority Youth Network) at its 6th annual Coming Out Day Breakfast on Wednesday.
The theme of the breakfast, which will be held from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at the University of North Florida's University Center, is "Coming Together - Building a Diverse and Inclusive Community."
The event "will bring together people from the small business, corporate, educational and professional communities that have been active in supporting LGBT equality in 2012," according to JASMYN's website.
The keynote speaker will be Sharon Lettman-Hicks, executive director and CEO of the National Black Justice Coalition. UNF president and former Jacksonville mayor John Delaney will be honored for his efforts to amend the city's Human Rights Ordinance.
The Human Rights Campaign's National Coming Out Day is on Thursday.
