JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Jacksonville Landing is holding a food drive to benefit Second Harvest North Florida.
The Landing is partnering with Second Harvest to help fight hunger in Jacksonville. According to a release announcing the food drive, one out of every eight people living in Jacksonville faces hunger.
Donations may be dropped off at the Jacksonville Landing next to Coastal Cookies every Friday during the Friday Arts and Farmers Market. The market runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Fridays.
Items collected during the drive will be donated to Second Harvest for distribution.
The most requested items by Second Harvest are:
- Canned meat
- Peanut butter
- Canned vegetables
The Jacksonville Landing will give each person making a donation a free spin on the Wheel of Prizes. Prices on the wheel include Landing merchandize, restaurant gift certificates, food items, Landing gift certificates and more.
