JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Today Jacksonville and Duval County residents can drop off old paperwork, recyclables and office supplies as part of the city's third annual event for American Recycles Day.

At each collection site, participants can also drop off old office supplies that will go to the Teacher Supply Depot, which provides supplies to public school teachers free of charge.

These drop off sites are only open to Jacksonville/Duval County residents.

This year there are three drop off sites:
• Prime Osborn Convention Center
1000 Water Street-32204
1 p.m. - 6 p.m.

• Kmart
500 Atlantic Boulevard
Neptune Beach-32266
12 p.m. - 6 p.m.

• DataSavers
888 Suemac Road-32254
12 p.m. - 6 p.m.

Republic Services will have shred trucks on site at the Convention Center to destroy sensitive documents like bank statements and other files.

At Kmart, there will be paper shredding trucks from Iron Mountain and Ultra Shred, as well as a truck from DataSavers, who will collect and destroy old harddrives. DataSavers will also collect hard drives at their Suemac Road location.

At last year's event, members of the community dropped off more than 23,000 pounds of paper, cardboard and other paper products.
