JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A car hit an ambulance Sunday, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The traffic reports says the driver of the car failed to yield to the emergency sirens at the intersection of Kings Avenue and Atlantic Boulevard.
According to the FHP, the passenger in the ambulance suffered minor injuries.
The ambulance was Rescue 13 with the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department.
James Cherry, 43, was driving his '67 Plymouth Valiant south on Kings Avenue approaching the intersection of Atlantic Boulevard when Rescue 13 was traveling eastbound on Atlantic Boulevard towards the intersection, with its emergency equipment activated, according to the accident report.
FHP says Cherry failed to yield to the ambulance's lights and siren, causing a collision.
