NASSAU COUNTY, Fla. -- A man driving a motor home has died in a traffic crash that happened around 6:25 p.m. Monday on U.S. 301.

George A. Miller, 82, of North Fort Myers, Fla., was traveling in a 1985 Toyo motor home northbound on U.S. 301 four miles south of Otis Road, according to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol.

For "unknown reasons at this time," Miller's vehicle traveled into the southbound lanes and struck the left front of 47-year-old Harold A. Lassiter's Ford F-150, the report said.

The Chevrolet vehicle traveling behind Miller's vehicle, driven by Millard A. Baker, 60, of Moultrie, Ga., hit debris from the collision between Lassiter and Miller's vehicles.

Miller was pronounced dead at the scene, while Lassiter, who is from Winter Haven, Fla., was taken to Shands Jacksonville in critical condition. Baker had no injuries.

FHP is still investigating whether Miller may have been using alcohol, according to the report.
