POWDER SPRINGS, Ga. -- Hundreds attended 17-year-old Jordan Davis's funeral service that was held at Trinity Chapel in Powder Springs, Ga.

Davis, a student at Wolfson High School, was killed in Jacksonville on Nov. 23 after what police say started over loud music.

Lucia McBath, his mother, leaned on those around her as she said goodbye to her 17-year-old son.

Among the hundreds of supporters at Trinity Chapel were two of Davis's classmates, Bre Anderson and Samantha Williams, from Wolfson High School in Jacksonville.

"Last time I spoke to him was Thursday night on Thanksgiving and it's just so hard because I miss him so much," said Williams.

The family's attorney, John Phillips said Saturday was extraordinarily difficult and those close to Davis are still trying to come to terms with his death.

"That was just terrible," said Mark Duquesney, a family friend. "That should never have happened."

But family and friends took comfort in what they agreed was a beautiful and powerful send off for the slain teen.

"When he said that God was there, really and that he had a plan, it wasn't by mistake," said Bre Anderson.

Davis was laid to rest at Kennesaw Memorial Park just a few miles from Trinity Chapel.

Phillips and Davis's family hope his death will have a butterfly effect on the community making people kinder and gentler to those around them.
