PALM COAST, Fla. -- Deputies with the Flagler County Sheriff's Office arrested a man on burglary charges after a report of a suspicious vehicle.

Debra Johnson, Public Information Officer for the Flagler County Sheriff's Office, said police received a call about a suspicious vehicle parked in an empty lot on Renshaw Drive shortly before 9 a.m. Monday.

When deputies responded, Johnson said the suspicious vehicle drove off, leaving one man behind.

Police tried to stop the suspicious vehicle, but Johnson said it flipped when the driver tried to make a right turn off Rymfire Drive.

Johnson said deputies are not identifying the driver at this time.  The driver was taken to Flagler Hospital where he is being treated for injuries he sustained in the crash.

Johnson said while deputies tried to stop the fleeing suspect, Rymfire Elementary School was locked down for a short time.

The man left behind was questioned by police.  Johnson said after deputies questioned the man, identified as 20-year-old Jeremiah Harris, they arrested him on charges of burglary and loitering and prowling.

Johnson said the responding deputies determined Harris and the other man were allegedly trying to break into a home at 33 Renshaw Drive.  Their alleged burglary attempt failed, Johnson said, and Johnson was left at the scene.  Deputies picked Harris up while he walked along Renshaw Drive.

The investigation is continuing and additional charges are pending, Johnson said.
