ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. -- A man is laughing after his wife ran through the wall of their home.
She drove through the back wall of her garage.
It happened Sunday afternoon on South Cappero Drive in a neighborhood near the intersection of International Golf Parkway and State Road 16.
Joe Larece says his wife's car did not stop.
He heard about it when he was at the Jaguars game.
Larece said, "I was at the game at the end of the first quarter. That's when my wife called me. She said, '9-1-1. Come home please. I had an accident.'" He said, "What happened, honey?" She responded, "Oh, I drove through the house!"
Larece laughed, "It was a strange call! You don't want to have this call!"
His wife was not hurt.
However, power was temporarily out in the neighborhood.
Public Information Officer Corporal Catherine Payne says deputies responded to the residence at 1:45 p.
Power was restored to the area by Florida Power and Light, Payne said.
The sheriff's office is still continuing an investigation into the factors that caused the crash.
