JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A man and a woman who were killed in a crash early on New Year's Day have been identified by the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

Pamala Mancillas, 48, and Timothy Brian Walsh, 51, were pronounced dead at the scene after their vehicle was struck and then flipped over several times, according to a release from JSO Public Information Officer Melissa Bujeda.

Their vehicle, which was driven by Mancillas, was leaving a strip mall at 13100 Atlantic Boulevard to make a left turn to go west on Atlantic, investigators found.

Another vehicle was traveling eastbound on Atlantic in the left lane and struck the left side of Mancillas' vehicle, Bujeda said.

This caused the vehicle with Mancillas and Walsh inside to flip several times, landing on its passenger's side. The vehicle that struck theirs spun counter-clockwise.

The investigation is ongoing, Bujeda said.
