JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Ribault High School celebrated the end of the work week Friday with a huge rally in the gym to recognize student efforts in earning the school an "A" grade.

Last year, Ribault got a "C" from the state following years of failing grades.

"When I came here in 10th grade, we were a "D" school and I don't want to graduate from a "D" school. Now went from a "D" to "C" to an "A," find so much joy," said Gregory Jackson, who will graduate this year.

Principal Edward Robinson, who graduated from Ribault in 1983, is proud of what the students accomplished. He said the challenge now is to repeat the effort this school year.

Tony Hill, who graduated as a Trojan in 1975 and later become a state senator, joined the Ribualt community celebration.

"We made it happen once, we can make it happen again," said Hill.
