ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. -- The main branch of the St. Johns County Library will be closed Friday, January 11 so staff can undergo safety training and the library can undergo minor repairs.
A release from the library said the library located at 1960 North Ponce de Leon Blvd. will be closed so improvements to the library can be made.
Some of the improvements include shelving, carpeting, new paint and electrical repairs.
The release said the closure is necessary and will ensure public safety since the work must be done in the library's public areas.
Since the repairs are necessitating the library be closed for the day, the release said library staff will take the opportunity to undergo public safety training led by the St. Johns County Sheriff's Office.
The library's web site and online resources will still be available.
All other libraries in St. Johns County will be open with regular hours Friday.
