JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Physician's Medical Center on San Jose Boulevard says flu shots are going fast, only 36 left.
They say if you have flu-like symptoms it's important to get tested. You only have two days after symptoms begin to take a dose of Tamiflu which can help fight the virus, but after that, over the counter medicines will be the only relief for symptoms.
They say the most susceptible people are the elderly, young children and those with immune system deficiencies.
"I think that they are really limited, a lot of places have run out, we still have 30 of them left and we're trying to get people in to get the flu shot, it can be very serious. We're not seeing a whole lot of real sick people yet we have seen a few elderly but for the most part young, middle-aged type people," says Ed McDonough, Physician Assistant, Physician's Medical Center.
McDonough also says it's important to test yourself to be sure you are not experiencing symptoms from a regular cold, bronchitis, or even from allergies.
