JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Jacksonville Transportation Authority Skyway has reopened after a bomb threat.

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office ordered the JTA to shut down the Skyway after a bomb threat was called in.

The Skyway was shut down at approximately 4:40 p.m., according to JTA spokesperson John Finotti.

The JSO received details of the threat and they are investigating. The reopening of the Skyway will be decided by the JSO.

A bomb threat called into the Orange Park Mall earlier Thursday afternoon is believed to be related to the Skyway bomb threat, according to the Clay County Sheriff's Office.

After a search of the premises, the Orange Park Mall was cleared by deputies after no suspicious devices or persons were found.
