JACKSOVNILLE, Fla. -- A Jacksonville man is in critical condition after his car overturned in a single-vehicle accident on Normandy Boulevard Friday evening, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Michael T. Hackett, 44, was driving a 1985 Buick coupe westbound on Normandy Boulevard, west of County Creek Boulevard, when it veered to the left and traveled onto the center median, according to the accident report. The front of the car struck a tree before it overturned onto the eastbound lane of Normandy Boulevard. Hackett was not wearing his seat belt and was ejected.
Hackett was transported by first responders to Shands Jacksonville where he remains in critical condition. Crash scene investigators say alcohol was not a factor, but charges are pending as the investigation continues.
