JACKSONVILLE, FLA-- "No sequestration, no furloughs!" chants Sally Wilson, a business analyst at NAS JAX.

Wilson is also a local representative for the American Federation of Government Employees says she wants one thing.

"I want you to call your local representatives, congressmen and voice your dissatisfaction with their inability to reach a budget and to stop the sequestration," says Wilson.

She says a lot of workers on the Naval base are nervous about the upcoming cuts and the possible furloughs. Which is why she and a few others took their message to the street outside the base.

"We are sick and tired of the government using the federal employees as a pawn, as a sacrificial lamb," tells Philippe Abrigo, a representative with AFGE.

The protesters' frustration and signs are not targeted at those on base, but rather at Washington D.C.

"This is not just about us, this is about the local community and the nation as a whole and the financial impact this is going to have on everyone," says Wilson.

FCN contacted NAS Jacksonville to ask about possible furloughs.  Miriam Gallet the Public Affairs Officer at NAS Jacksonville said "no final decision regarding furlough has been made to date. But if a furlough becomes necessary at the end of April, NAS Jacksonville 6,153 DoD civilians could be impacted."
