BRUNSWICK, Ga. -- Two teenagers are in police custody after being charged with first-degree murder in the Thursday shooting death of 13-month-old Antonio Santiago.

De'Marquise Elkins, 17, and another boy, age 15, were arrested Friday morning. The name of the 15-year-old is not being released due to his age.

The investigation hit full speed Friday afternoon as police searched a number of properties in an effort to find the gun used in Thursday morning's shooting. First Coast News was first on the scene as the home believed to be that of Elkins was searched.

The focus of the investigation has moved from Ellis and London to a few blocks away on Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. FCN pulled up right as officers started to line both sides of the street to search a home, climbing on the roof, moving rocks, even pulling back boarded up windows to search for evidence.

Officers left the home with a bag and box full of evidence, after Brunswick Police Chief Tobe Green announced Elkins was arrested and charged with first degree murder.

"My brother has a heart. He isn't going to kill everybody or wake up and kill because they didn't give him no money," said Elkins' sister Sabrina Elkins.

Elkins' family watches and waits and they say police have arrested the wrong person. A woman claiming to be Elkins' aunt said she was with Elkins the day of the shooting.

"Marquise was with me at 8:15. We were at my residence. I dropped him and my son off at McIntyre court around 11:30 then came back home to get ready for school," said Katrina Freeman.

Officers then moved quickly from Martin Luther King Blvd. to Gordon and George where they searched another property, this time leaving with a large gun. As Brunswick police continue to gather evidence in the shooting death of a 13-month-old.

The police department said the investigation is not over and investigators are still looking for tips from the community. Those with information are asked to call 912-267-5516, the Brunswick Police Department's silent witness line.
