JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- According to Sgt. Dylan Bryan with Florida Highway Patrol, Assistant Chief Larry Jones of the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office was arrested and charged with DUI Saturday morning.
Jones hit a tractor trailer on the I-95 exit ramp at State Road 206 in St. Johns County.
A DUI test was conducted and there were "positive indicators of the presence of alcohol."
Jones was cooperative, but he met the criteria for an arrest. He was booked in the St. Johns County jail.
Jones was charged with careless driving, DUI, and DUI with property damage.
The blood alcohol level not released at this time.
According to the St. Johns County Sheriff's office website, Jones was released on bond.
