ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. -- The St. Johns County Sheriff's Office is actively searching for a woman missing for almost a month.
A search for 67-year-old Barbara Parchem is underway in the Flagler Estates neighborhood, in the a wooded and swampy area near East Deep Creek Blvd and Jonathon Street, according to the St. Johns County Sheriff's Office.
Cadaver dogs and other K9's are being used in the search for Parchem, along with ATV's and a helicopter. According to Sgt. Payne with the St. Johns County Sherrif's Office, they are looking for Parchem and any evidence that will help with her case. Payne did not say what lead the search team to this location around 8:00 a.m. Tuesday.
The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission and the Flagler County Sheriff's Office are assisting in the search and the state attorney's office is also on scene.
Parchem has been missing for three weeks. The St. Johns County Sheriff's Office now says they suspect foul play involved. Detectives have done multiple searches near Parchem's house in Vermont Heights area with off-road vehicles and air units.
Recently, Equusearch has said it will help in the search for Parchem.
Parchem is 5-foot-3 and weighs 100 lbs. She has short brown hair with blonde highlights. She was last seen on April 5 wearing a dark shirt and pants and a gray hoodie driving a red 2005 Nissan Pathfinder in the Molasses Junction area.
