Motorcyclist hit by truck, dies at hospital

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A man riding a motorcycle was struck and killed this afternoon on the Westside. 

Around 2:45 p.m. the driver of the motorcycle was traveling on Fouraker Road according to Jacksonville Sheriff's Office detective J.D. Gregory.  

After being stopped at the light at the intersection at Lenox Avenue, he cut through a parking lot on the southeast corner of Lenox and Fouraker.

According to Gregory when the motorcyclist exited onto Lenox, he struck the side of a pick-up truck and was thrown from his motorcycle and under the truck.

The motorcycle driver was transferred to Shands Jacksonville hospital and was pronounced dead upon arrival. 

The driver of the motorcycle was wearing a helmet and no charges have been filed against the driver of the truck according to JSO.
