St Johns County Sheriff's Office deputies find meth lab serving warrant

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. -- Two people are in custody following a search warrant execution Wednesday morning, that became a hazmat situation.

Deputies with the St. Johns County Sheriff's Office discovered an alleged methamphetamine lab at a home on the 3500 block of Begonia Street, according to a police report from the St. Johns County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies were at the home around 9:30 a.m. Wednesday to serve a search warrant to one of the residents, 24-year-old John Edward Sharer, the report detailed.

While at the home deputies allegedly noticed items used in the manufacturing of meth present in Sharer's residence, as well as actual methamphetamine being located in the home.

A meth lab was located in backpack outside next to the residence, according to the SJCSO report.

A second suspect, 26-year-old Tracy Dian Sharer was also home at the time of the discovery of the meth lab.

Both John and Tracy Sharer are facing charges of drug possession and drug equipment possession. John is facing additional charges of drug producing. 

Both are currently being held in the St. Johns County Jail.
