PALATKA, Fla. -- A man died in a house fire on Tuesday morning on Olive Street.
The fire happened at 9:15 a.m. at a home in the 700 block of Olive Street. Clarence Hall, 74, a resident of the home, was unable to escape and died, according to Palatka Fire Department Chief Mike Lambert.
Three dogs, two of them puppies, also died in the fire. Two other residents of the home were not home at the time of the fire.
Hall's autopsy was scheduled to be performed Wednesday, Lambert said.
The State Fire Marshal is investigating the cause of the fire, but no foul play is suspected.
The American Red Cross is assisting the two other residents of the house.
