JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Soon artwork by local artists will be displayed around Jacksonville through a Highway Gallery contest, according to the Florida Times-Union and Florida Mining.
The Highway Gallery is open to all artists; it started April 15 and ends on June 19. The contest is a citywide public art campaign and juried art competition that will transform digital billboards into art galleries.
Up to 12 artists will be selected to have their art pieces displayed across Jacksonville from August 2 to September 31. The winners will also have their work displayed in the Florida Mining Gallery from August 2 to September 20.
The Highway Gallery competition is a collaboration of the local non-profit Clearly Jacksonville, Harbinger, a national turnkey sign company based in Jacksonville, and the Florida Mining Gallery.
