JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office has made an arrest in connection to a recent Mandarin pharmacy theft, according to a JSO press conference.

Michael Allen Lee was arrested 5 a.m. Friday at a Extended Stay Hotel according to a JSO police report.

Lee, 52, allegedly confessed to walking into the Publix pharmacy and demanding pills on June 12.

The report said Lee allegedly told the pharmacy his wife had cancer and did not have insurance. He demanded pills from behind the counter and said he had a gun. When he received the pills, he fled on foot.

An employee followed the suspect out of the store, when Lee allegedly pulled out a knife and said, "If you step any closer, I'll slice you."

The suspect was seen driving a white Ford Explorer, which was tracked to the hotel.

Lee was transported to the Pre-Trial Detention Facility and charged with armed robbery with a firearm or other deadly weapon.

It is undetermined at this time if Lee is linked to any of the other Mandarin pharmacy thefts.
