JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A crash involving a firetruck on Southside Boulevard near Ivey Road stopped traffic Saturday afternoon.
According to Florida Highway Patrol, a Jacksonville Fire Rescue engine and a Ford F-350 truck were traveling south on Southside Blvd. at the intersection of Ivey Road around 12:45 p.m.
The truck and the Fire Rescue engine stopped at a red light and a van collided with the Ford truck, according to FHP.
The impact of the crash pushed the truck into the JFRD engine.
The JFRD Rescue engine sustained $20,000 in damage, according to the FHP report.
The drivers of the Ford truck and the van sustained minor injuries and were taken to Memorial Hospital.
According to witnesses, fire fighters exited their firetruck in order to assist passengers in the cars that crashed into them.
The three fire-fighter passengers in the rescue engine were not injured in the crash.
Traffic on Southside Blvd. was shut down for several hours.
