GREEN COVE SPRINGS, Fla. -- Kelly Diane Rose, 49, pleaded guilty to the Armed Robbery and Attempted Murder of her mother, Diane Knapper this week.
In October 2012, police were called to Knapper's home after one of her daughters was not able to contact her.
According to the State Attorney, the 70-year-old woman was found lying on the floor and severely beaten. Knapper had skull fractures and multiple areas where sections of her scalp were torn from her head.
Knapper survived the attack and was able to tell police that her daughter, Kelly Rose, beat her with a hammer.
After the attack, Rose went through her mother's personal belongings and stole her credit cards and check book, according to the State Attorney.
Surveillance video shows Rose used the victim's credit cards just after the incident took place.
As part of the plea, Rose will spend 30 years in prison.
She will be sentenced the week of July 15.
