JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A girl being attacked by another girl on their way to Oceanway Middle School in March.
A lot has developed in this situation and the school is ready to let this all just go away.

A team of folks, including one special father, refuses to let their school's name get tarnished.

It's persistence that makes Andy Murlock such a great volunteer at the school.

He's president of the school's SAC, PTA, Choral Booster.

"I believe in the school ... I believe in the administration," he said.

And he has built a partnership with Jacksonville Zoo to build a butterfly habitat, right here at school.

"We needed a positive place for everyone to go to, not just for academics ... to get away and have fun."

Amy Batten and Patrick Fultz helped build the habitat with the Junior Honor Society.

And while media coverage of an event can impact the way a city sees a school, Murlock said he won't let any one event tarnish the school he loves.

"It's a beacon in the community," Murlock said.
