ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. -- A rash of car break-ins in the Fruit Cove area has the St. Johns County Sheriff's Office reminding residents and visitors to never leave valuables in plain sight even if a car is locked.
On Thursday between 6:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., investigators say five residents reported having their cars broken in to in three different locations.
Two break-ins happened in a parking lot while the victims were inside the Switzerland Dance School.
Two other cars were targeted in the parking lot of the Julington Creek Aquatic Center and a fifth was broken into at Julington Creek Plantation Park.
