JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- An off-duty Jacksonville Sheriff's Officer who died in a head-on collision with a tractor-trailer on June 21 did not have alcohol in his system, according to a Florida Highway Patrol report.
Tchenter M. Wilson, 43, was driving an SUV southbound on North Busch Drive around 7:30 p.m. and "crossed the center line into the northbound lane" and struck the tractor-trailer head on, the report said.
An update to the original FHP report said Wilson "was not under the influence of alcohol" and that there "were prescription medications present that were consistent to his medical condition."
A more extensive toxicology report is still being processed. Wilson was a 15-year veteran with JSO.
