UPDATE 7/9/13, 8:30 p.m.: The railroad crossing was cleared and repaired as of 4:30 p.m., according to the CCSO Facebook page.
MIDDLEBURG, Fla. -- Railroad crossing arms that are stuck in the down position are causing delays at the intersection of County Road 220 and Sleepy Hollow Road.
Motorists are encouraged to avoid the area, as the time frame for the repairs to be complete is unknown, according to Clay County Sheriff's Office Public Information Coordinator Mary Justino.
Trains are still passing through on the tracks slowly, which is adding to the delays in the area.
The crossing arms appear to be malfunctioning due to a mechanical problem, not an accident, Justino said.
