Machete, voodoo curse attack under investigation

PALM COAST, Fla. -- A man put a voodoo curse on his sister and attacked the man dating her with a machete, according to a Flagler County Sheriff's Office police report.

Flagler County Sheriff's Office police responded to a home on July 5. While on the way to the residence the officers were informed by dispatch that the two suspects left.

Steeve Leveille, 24, said that Roodlyn Momremier, 29, came to his residence because Leveille was dating Momremier's sister. Momremier's family didn't approve of the relationship and he put a voodoo curse on her.

According to the report, Momremier allegedly ran up to Leveille with the machete and threatened to kill him. During the attack, another unknown suspect allegedly punched Leveille while Momremier tried striking him with the machete.




A second victim, who was standing in the driveway at the time, did not wish to give personal information or an account of what happened. According to the report, the unknown victim also refused treatment.


A neighbor who looked outside to see what the commotion was about and called the police. The neighbor saw the driver of a green four-door vehicle leave the area and the two other men ran towards the Pine Hill Lane area.

The witness did not get a good look at the suspects. However, she was able to tell what they were wearing. The driver had on a white tank top, while one of the men was wearing a white tank top and black shorts. The other man was holding an orange shirt.

The report said when officers arrived that Leveille was soaked in blood from a large cut between his ring and pinky finger. He also had a gash behind his left ear. Leveille received treatment at Florida Hospital Flagler.


Momremier was later arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.
